Uttar Pradesh Technical University has been setup by the Government of U.P.
on 8th May 2000 vide Act no. 1248(2) XVII-V-I-I-19-2000 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam
Sankhaya 23 of 2000. At the dawn of new Millennium, the University has been
established as the seat of learning by imparting a well co-ordinated,
Multi-disciplinary quality education in the fast changing Scenario, and to
accelerate the advancement and development of technical education for matters
connected therewith. The jurisdiction of the UPTU extends to whole of the state
of Uttar Pradesh.
University Act reads “Technical Education” means Programme of the Education,
Research and Training in Engineering, Technology, Archi- tecture, Town Planning,
Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such others Programmes and area as the
Central Government may declare, in consul- tation with All India Council for
Technical Education, by notification in Gazette.
All the College of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Architecture, and
Technology, formerly affiliated to various universities, have been affiliated to
the U.P. Technical University under the direction and guidance of the founder
Chancellor Prof. D.S. Chauhan.
The University is devoted to realizing the vision of achieving Excellence in the
field of Technical Education. The main objective of the University lies in
upgrading the standard of Education, Training and Research, for the achievement
of Technical learning by ensuring assistance from the Industries properly.
The U.P. Technical University spans an area of 5000 sq. kms of U.P., from
Gazipur in the East to Noida in the West, Jhansi in South to the Dehradun hills
in the North. “The University is famed to be the biggest Technical University in
Asia”.
The U.P. T.U. not only conducts the biggest Examination in the field of
Technical Education, it also declares in each semester the result of more than 1
lac students in record time, approximately within one and half months. The
U.P.T.U. has been aspiring considerable progress and hopes to soon achieve the
status of being one of the advanced universities in the country influencing and
inspiring several generations of leading professional growth and success. |
